Exciting times for AmaDablam who supported the Helping Hands for Nepal team for two weeks in Nepal in August helping rural schools improve their environment.

We have been back a few weeks now and have had time to process everything we experienced. Here are just some of the big achievements from our volunteering trip supported by the fundraising and your kind donations.
We visited two rural schools, pitched our tents in their playgrounds and our backup team set up our kitchen in their classrooms. While we were at each school we achieved the following, amongst many other things:
A medical camp with two doctors and a pharmacist was set up. Over 250 children were seen by medical staff, weighed, measured, diagnosed and given medicines that day
Classrooms were cleaned, painted and decorated and our logo was added by the children
Menstruation talks/clinics along with packs handed out to all relevant pupils
Broken windows were replaced at the first school
At the first school, two concrete areas were created to house a basketball hoop.
At the second school, a garden was created from a piece of wasteland.
The team had a number of teachers in tow, so their skills were put to good use from early years to year 11
We supplied much-needed classroom basics, pens, stationery, exercise books etc.
On top of all this, there was music, dancing, loom band bracelets were made and gifted to others, lots of cleaning, bracelet making, litter picking and so much more …..
We are planning a pie and pea supper in a few weeks’ time, with a slide show and more information on our trip. We would love to welcome all our valued supporters, do email us if you would like more information and as soon as we have a date we will let you know. teamhelpingnepal@gmail.com
More exciting times in Nepal are planned for 2023. If you can help us at all with this trip we have a Go Fund Me Page all set up – please drop us a message and we will send you the link.
